The present progressive is used for events that are occurring in or around this particular moment in time, or to indicate that something is temporary, or to discuss changing situation, and also to discuss future plans. The corresponding form of the verb "to be" as auxilar verb and the basic form of the verb (infinitive) as the main verb (more "ing"): With the continuous present two verbs are used. Normally, "ing" simply adds the verb to form the main verb (called "present participle" by some and form "-ing" by others). In the verbs of one syllable ending in a vowel and a consonant, the consonant is doubled, "sit" = "sitting". In the verbs ending in a vowel, a consonant and "e" removed the "e" and replaced with "ing", "write" = "writing", "rate" = "rating", "like" = "liking". One difference between the present continuous and present simple: English Some ideas may sound somewhat absurd to Spanish ears if translated directly. For example, "We are wearing something" is equivalent to "carry something as" not "We're taking something because" or "They are sitting" equals "are sitting" and not "are sitting" as in Spanish. The reason we use the present continuous to describe these situations is that the simple English present merely describes habits and characteristics (or general truths). In other words, if we use the present simple to say "we wear something" would sound like we have this habit or feature. (For example: "We put something every day" or "We usually put something".) The basic structure of the present continuous negative: Contractions are usually getting "It is" in "it's", "it is not" in "it's not" or "it is not", "you are" with "you're", "we are not" with " we're not "or" we are not "," that is, "with" that's "" that is not "with" that's not "or" that is not ", etc. (Note: "I am not" only contracts with "I'm not"). The basic structure of the present continuous questioning: (anywhere = some or anywhere, anybody = anyone, anyone, anything = anything, anything) The word "some" and "any" sometimes mean the same. The main difference is that "some" is typically used for yes and "any" for negative and interrogative. In the present continuous questioning just the verb "to be" exchanged with the subject to ask the question
